A fatal motor vehicle crash in St Ann has left one man dead and two others injured following a single-vehicle collision along Main Street in Ocho Rios on Friday, January 9, 2026.
Reports reaching Moon 10 indicate that a white motor car carrying several occupants crashed near the Hog Hole area. According to Caribloop, the impact severely damaged the front of the vehicle and resulted in fatal injuries to a front-seat passenger.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the vehicle overturned during the crash. Surveillance footage from the area reportedly shows the vehicle traveling at high speed before colliding with a wall and flipping, eventually coming to rest in the middle of the roadway.
The crash attracted a large crowd of onlookers, and emergency responders later arrived and worked to turn the vehicle upright before moving it to the side of the road. The injured occupants were assisted from the wreckage and transported to hospital for treatment. The deceased was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut free before being pronounced dead at the scene.
Additional footage captured by passersby shows the damaged vehicle at the roadside surrounded by members of the public, while other video clips show one individual lying on the road as authorities carried out emergency operations.
Police remained at the location for several hours, securing the area and conducting investigations into the incident. The identities and genders of the victims have not yet been released, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
This latest fatality adds to ongoing concerns about road safety in Jamaica, following several deadly crashes since the start of the year. The incident comes days after a fiery collision in Portmore claimed the life of a woman, and just one week after two men were killed in a crash in Trelawny when their vehicle reportedly exploded.
